Community Fellowship

The mission of the Community Fellowship Committee is to build and foster an inclusive, growing, celebrating, and caring community of believers whose PLAY is shaped by an understanding that the bonds of friendship and trust developed through our time together helps us to understand and grow in our relationships with God and each other.

We know that for many, PLAY has become a peripheral activity, something we grow out of as we age. To the contrary, we believe that PLAY is so much more. It is an integral part of our lives. To PLAY is to do things that we enjoy, that feed us, that give us deep satisfaction, that lift our spirits, that are fun, that transport us or help us to grow. We believe that PLAY is a very important part of our faith development. PLAY, despite our preconceptions, leads to depth as to lightness. It makes us strong and confident and helps shape a generous and open community that is able to go out into the world filled with hope and love.

We have many opportunities that we hope will help you to PLAY and to grow more fully into who God has created you to be. If you don’t see something here that welcomes your Spirit, let’s chat and create new opportunities together that will create space for all God’s children to delight in God’s good creation.

Salt Shakers

Salt Shakers is a group NDPC’ers who share a meal together during Jan., Feb., and March. Everyone who signs up is randomly assigned to a group of 10-12 folks. All NDPC adults who enjoy good cuisine and good company are encouraged to sign up in December!

Water Color Tuesdays

Meets in the Den 6:30 - 9:00p.m. Come when you can, leave when you wish!

Join us for a night of creative expression using watercolors. It isn’t a class in the normal sense of the word, but a small group of folks who enjoy painting together. While there is not any formal instruction, the wisdom of the group is freely shared and will help your skills to grow. Everyone brings their own supplies. The only requirement is that you have a desire to create watercolors. Talent is great, but not required. Call Woody Hickcox for more info.

Senior Adult Fellowship

1st Tuesday of each month at Noon in Fellowship Hall

Join this group of retired adults for an afternoon of good food and great conversation. We gather at table to enjoy a good meal and a time of Fellowship. Each month there is a program on topics that are of interest to the group.

Women Together

Join this group of amazing women for a monthly gathering of fellowship and sharing. This is a time for women of all ages to gather and reflect together upon their own jouney’s as women of faith. Contact Kent Leslie for more details.

Men's Breakfast

Second Tuesday of September through May at 7am in Fellowship Hall

The men of the church get together for breakfast, fellowship and a brief program. All are welcome! Contact Jack Kittle for more information.

Take a Hike

This group hikes together on monthly basis from September to June. When members volunteer to lead a hike we go, meeting in the NDPC lot and carpooling, usually northwards, for day hikes.  Interested adults are welcome.  Look for notice of any planned hikes in the Communicator. Jenny Shew and Terry Hughey are the coordinators.

Church Retreats and Camping Trips

Every year NDPC likes to get away from the noise of the city for a weekend of fellowship and faithful reflection. Our retreats and camping trips are planned by a committee of church members around some theme. These gatherings are always heavy on relaxation, Sabbath, and community building.
